Can New Zealand become as well-known internationally for emerging proteins products as we are for our traditional meat and dairy exports? There is increasing amounts of interest and activity in this sector, but it is still very small and much of it flies beneath the radar.
Emerging Proteins NZ, FoodHQ and AGMARDT have collaborated on a report that will be launched during New Zealand AgriFood Week: Emerging Proteins in Aotearoa New Zealand: What will it take for the sector to thrive?
It summarises the key observations and opportunities arising from discussions with over 150 people from throughout the emerging proteins sector. It concludes with some recommendations for what is required for this sector to thrive, and some principles upon which they believe activity in this sector should be based. The launch will include an overview of the findings and the sector in general, along with a panel discussion on the opportunities and challenges for the sector in NZ.
A light lunch will be provided from 12.30pm. If you have any dietary requirements, please advise no later than Monday 3 May.
